I own a '91 9000 turbo with the higly desireable, yet extremely soft (easily dented), 16" Aero rims (gun-metal gray with silver lip) and I too would like to upgrade to 17's or even 18's. The wheels have lost most of their silver finish on their lips and two are slightly dented because of an NYC pothole on Park ave. To my knowledge, the only 18's available in with the 4 X 108 configuration are available through Abbott Racing and they are quite costly. I found some 17's that fit my bolt pattern but upgrading in size will make more obvious the negative spacing between sidewall and fender flair. Is there a spacer that can bring the rim of the wheel a little more flush with the fender or can I custom order wheels with less offset in the rear? Is this even possible and if so, will it have negative effects regarding durability and handling? Secondly, are 18" rims a really bad idea on my car? It has been lowered and stiffened using Swedish Dynamics Red Series springs and Bilstein shocks. HELP???
