After replacing TCS runoff valve is adjustment needed?

Does the ECU need to be reset? or will this alone cure the problem?
I intalled the new valve but my car remains in limp mode, actually it starts just fine and runs ok until you press the gas pedal (which remains stiff) firmly and then it kicks in again. I am afraid it is more serious than just the TCS Runoff Valve, maybe a failure of the Throttle Body Assembly (ETS/TCS)??
Any suggestions?
TIA
Mario
