About 50k miles ago the car had a hissy fit and pitched the belt off. I think the idler wheel and the tensioner strut were replaced at that time. I'm going to start there though.
There are a few spot instances in the archives of balancer chains slipping a cog and causing rough idle, but I have a hard time seeing how that happens. Might be the problem, but the balancer stuff is so much work that I want to make absolutely positive before I dive into that.
I'll post what I find.
