Interesting - everything I've seen said that starting in '89, the 9000T went to the LH2.4 with the non-adjustable AMM. But this wouldn't be the first time the lists were wrong.
The 380 ohm setting is a starting point. At that resistance, most engine will start and run. Since you can't adjust the AMM if the engine isn't running, the FI engineers figured 380 ohms to be a starting point.
The ideal tool is an oscilloscope, but the next best tool is an quality analog volt meter. Yes, analog, not digital meter. You can see the needle swing better that way.

for a little more information. You can measure either at the O2 sensor signal lead (0.2 to 0.9 volt swing) or at the test connector at the left side of the engine compartment, right at the base of the hood (0 to 5 volt swing).
