Nope... i dont think so (long) Posted by nick [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: A-spring replacement on AT, peff, Tue, 11 Mar 2003 17:34:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hey Peff, I just did this job with my dad on my 88 9kt. Now we are not mechanics, just DIYers. We have fun and we learn. But anyways, The two accumulator springs are on the underside of the vavle body. As far as i know You do have to take out the valve body and flip it over. It's not hard, just remove all the T-27 Torx bits on the perimeter of the valve body. Flip the valve body over and the Spring assembly is right there.
You can check out this link, the directions that came with my spring from ERIKSSON told me to put the gear selector in 1 during the job.
Anyways....Before i did this my box shifted like slosh. Downshifts were so bad the whole car would buck and throw me around, even upshifts were super drawn out. Now, the car rides beautiful! Downshifts quick, easy and on command. Upshifts are smooth too. It's definitaly a job that is 100% worth it in terms of cost (spring is cheap) and time.
Good luck, and keep me posted,
nick
