Guys, just want to share my happiness. After 1 year of sleeping finally my 86 9000 carlsson back to live again. It started a year ago when the car just died and wont start again, afer changing lots of parts, ended up replacing most of the fuel injection parts (fuel pump, injectors,ECU,FPR,AMM), and all electrical parts(relays, fuses, battery) I had no luck in bringing it back to live. Finally yesterday I decided to give another shot, afte recharging the battery, I turned the ignition, same thing happend, the engine just turned could not engaged. I replaced the oil, put in new ones, replaced plugs, and when I did all that, I saw something was not right. Right behind my intake manifold, by the firewall, I noticed there is a connector that the cables are touching each other (shorted out). It turned out to be the O2 sensor connector, I spliced new cable and make it neat, redo the connection......and guess what...switch the ignition....THE ENGINE RUNS AGAIN...it was rough in the beginning....but it got smooth after all the gunks came out from the exhaust.
What happend was, I had a bad motor mount and the engine keeps moving back and forth causing the O2 sensor cable to stretch and made contact to each other and causing the wont start problem.....I LEARNED THE LESSON THE HARD WAY AFTER ONE YEAR !!!!!
Good luck for you guys out there.....OLD SAAB DoNT DIE, THEY JUST TO HEAVY TO MOVE !!!!!!!!
Andy
