Based on the price and where it goes I suspect that this is some variation on the 'zener across the MAP sensor' theme.

Along the firewall on the passenger side (US) is a small black box with a short vacuum hose that goes to the intake. This is the Manifold Absolute Pressure [MAP] sensor. The 'Absolute' part means that this widget measures absolute manifold pressure, not manifold pressure relative to atmospheric pressure.

The trionic systems use the output from this sensor to draw a bead on how much absolute pressure is being generated by the turbo. Then it regulates this pressure by switching the BPC valve in and out.

Most likely the T5Boost4 attentuates the MAP signal, fooling the Trionic into thinking there is less boost than there really is. This method counts on the Trionic to adjust the fuel mixture and monitor the detonation to prevent the motor from blowing itself to pieces.

Here's the problem;

Turbo charged motors have a limit as to how much boost can be cranked up. The air pumped by the turbo is passed from a roaring hot turbo, through an intercooler and into the inlet. The harder you push a turbo charged engine, the hotter the turbo runs. If the inlet charge is hot enough the mixture will detonate ultimately causing damage to the motor.

If I were going to try this widget I'd certainly monitor the inlet charge temperature carefully. I'd also think really hard about a bigger intercooler. The trick to amping up any turbocharged motor is keeping the inlet charge cool.
