Gene is correct about both of those and they both came to haunt me this past winter.
One morning I came out to go to work and found the driver's door lock on my 1992 9000T frozen. I couldn't get in through that door, so I decided to go in through the passenger door. I knew the alarm would go off, but hoped that maybe I would be able to start the car. Well I got into the car throught the passenger door and the alarm went off. Once the alarm is activated, the starter is deactivated, therefore the car can't be started. I ended up having to disconnect the battery to quiet the alarm. And abandoning the car for the day until the lock thawed...Did I mention that we had had 18 inches of snow and the car was blocking my wife's car in the driveway, and she had a Dr's appointment!
In almost any other car I would have been able to use a key fob to disable the alarm, enter the car through the passenger side and be on my way.
