CV joint noises Posted by dana [Email] ![]() ![]() |

Wanted to relay my experience with CV boot replacement.
I discovered 2 weeks ago that my CV boot cover was completely torn all the way around.....therefore the CV joint was exposed to about 3 to 4 weeks of winter weather in New England....I checked it after hearing some clicking noises during parking type steering/parking. After removing and wiping off the CV joint and adding new CV grease I installed the new CV joint (outer) boot without problems. Now I am still getting the same clicks during slow extreme turn/parking situations. Please don't tell me I have to replace the CV joint :-( ?
Note that I torqued everything appropriately.
Would appreciate others with similar experience to chime in. This would seem to be a somewhat common situation.....it's hard to regularly ck your CV boot.
Thanks in Adv.
Dana
