How did you get the Saber 2.5" to link up with the stock dp/cat 2.25"?
It will be the same route (I'm assuming): an adapter.
A lot of people have gone the way of JT 3" dp and cat, then linked that up to the stock 2.25" system using a 3"-to-2.25" adapter after the cat. The stock long pipe would have to be shortened to allow the adapter to fit in between the cat and the long pipe. Note that if you replace the stock dp- with-integrated-cat with a separate dp and cat, the cat will sit under the car as opposed to under the engine. No problem, as there are metal brackets already built into the underside of the car to allow for this. It just means you will have to buy 2 rubber cat hangers to let the cat hang from the brackets ($7 each from Saab).
As for cat choices, it makes no difference as long as it is a hi-flow 3" style. CatCo makes one, as well as CarSound. I'm sure there are others, though. They range in price from $105 to $150 (USD), depending upon where you buy it from. My advice would be to buy by price. Half of us have the CatCo, and half of us have the CarSound, and neither half have reported any problems.
There is also what is called a "race cat" out there. These cat's use catalyst plates (as opposed to pellets), and are supposed to offer less restriction, but at a price of $300. They do make them in 3".
