One of my good friends just picked up a 93 Aero, 147k, immaculate shape, TCS mod, maintenance records like a phone book. The problem is that the tranny makes a whining noise, particularly in 2nd and 3rd gear, deaccelerating. As you let off, at almost any speed, we hear a pulsing NyihNyihNyih gear whine, which goes away when clutch is pressed in. I am aware that 9000 auto trannies are pretty poor, but do the 5 speeds share similar problems with 900 trannies, or is this something different altogether?
Thanks,
Cam
