S-02's yielded 22k miles on a '98 CSE 5 speed..... Posted by Frank [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Bridgestone Potenza S-02 or S-03 which to choose?, AeroInCO, Mon, 7 Apr 2003 11:31:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
providing excellent grip and ride, rain or shine, mostly high speed highway, with some gentle urban driving in the Southeast. I'm sure you know they're dangerous with any frozen precip. The S-02's were installed shortly after replacing the OEM struts with Bilsteins, and a substandard alignment caused an uneven wear pattern, very aggravating. Firestone SZ-50's are a highly recommended alternative also made by Bridgestone. IIRC, the treadware rating for the 02's was 180, expect the 03's to be higher.
Due to the $'s, I replaced the 02's with Kumho 712's, a good value for my type of driving. Interestingly, gas mileage dropped by 2 mpg with the Kumho's, most likely due to the softer sidewall.
