You need to have the fault codes checked by a Saab shop Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Sun, 20 Apr 2003 09:39:40 In Reply to: SRS Lite, Bert K, Sun, 20 Apr 2003 04:05:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
that have the special scanner tool for 89-91 9000.
The more modern Tech 2 scanner can't read those early SRS systems.
I wouldn't be surprised if he fault code is "high resistance in left/front crash sensor"
It's a problem that have never been really fixed.
And it might be a glitch inside the SRS ECU that sometimes trigger this fault code.
I usually read/and reset the code and let the customer drive the car, telling him if it comes back within a week or two, we look into it more carefully. If it takes a year or so for the light to come back on with the same code, I just reset it again.
I have seen so many early 9000 with this code and tested the circuits and sensors without finding any problems that I rule it to be a glitch inside ECU now and than.
