DI Cassette? Posted by Gene N [Email] (#1094) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gene N) on Wed, 23 Apr 2003 08:37:45 In Reply to: 90' 9000 Turbo w/78K starts but back fire and stalled, Jon Meyer, Tue, 22 Apr 2003 23:30:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If you have the original DI Cassette (no plug on the right side of the red unit--just wires), then that would be a high probability candidate. If indeed, the cassette is original, then it is difficult to quickly swap in a new one for diagnosis. If it has been replaced once during its life (has a plug), then it could still be the cassette. When you replace the plugs (NGK BCPRES-7 gapped at 1mm, of course) look for oil leakage from the coils or any burnt electrical smell from the cassette vicinity.
