then it would continue to slip even past redline which would cause the overrev protection to kick in, thus preventing the car from reaching any kind of high speed, and it would stink like crazy. It wouldn't just magically hover at redline (which is 6200 RPM according to the SAAB workshop manual). I don't know what the drag coefficient of the SAAB 9000 is, but given that, one should be able to calculate what the drag would be at those speeds along with all the other variables (engine horse power at speed, temperature, air density, tire rolling resistance, etc...). I'm sure you'll find that the engine has more than enough horses to get it to those speeds.
