Hello all,
I had the same question about mounts and which ones go first. My uppers have two cracks starting so I had the dealer check it out...and after researching it I found that some swear the lowers go firt...others say the uppers go and that causes increased strain on the lowers. Hence the cheaper method to increase stiffness, resulting in less wear and tear on the lowers would be to drop the pvc into the upoper mount as suggested by Les. Should your uppers as Joe mentioned be totally gone then after a great deal of searching I'd opt for a new set of stock rubber with PVC inserts....especially with auto. If your set on poly it seems that europarts had a softer poly than abbott etc. Poly is easier to do but with auto might add to much vibration resulting in once again changing out the uppers.
As for solid lowers.....they should last forever.....but if the dealer and 50% of saabnet is correct in saying the uppers go first then stay hydraulic lower and non-cracket OE uppers with stiffeners (pvc) and if the other 50% is right then we're all hooped into either more vibration and the inevitable replacement of the costly lowers! haha
any idea on which goes first??
