Mark:
Open your trunk/hatchback's plywood spare tire cover. Underneath the joint at the front you will find two torx screws. Remove these and you can pull the plywood piece out of the car. In the middle of the space behind the rear seat you'll see a rather large access plate. Under this are the fuel pump connections. Two Electrical and two tubing. Disconnect these - be careful with the tubing connectors - they are brittle ( how do I know??) and move them out of your way. Take a BIG screw driver and ballpeen hammer and lossen the retaining ring at the top of the tank - it rotates CCW to remove.
You can now pull out the fuel pump assembly, which might be tough going but possible. Depending upon what you purchased ( $300+/- for a complete pump set or $90+/- for just the pump) you will either have little work to do or alot.
The whole job shouldn't take more than an afternoon. Just be sure that any tubing that you use to replace stuff that you either intentionally cut or kinked (unintentionally) is fuel injection hose - not vacuum hose.
Good Luck,
Paul R.
