remote central locking

I have a 93 9k which has central locking but no switch on centre console, I have checked inside drivers door & there is a central locking motor inside, also there was once an alarm installed in this car ( before I bought it ) which given the huge amount of wires on the conector I think had a central locking option. I would like to buy a basic remote transmitter/reciever from RS ( around £15) & hook it up to the car to provide remote central locking, Im thinking I could do one of the following:
1/ connect to wires entering the control box under dash ( 3 wires one an earth the other two open or shut signals, I think ? dont know which ones!!
2/ connect to existing alarm wiring harness ? once again no idea which wires to connect to but presumable the same arangement.
3/ connect into back of centre console switch unit which although not having a central locking switch ( like my old 94 9k had !! ) probably has the correct wires, im assuming that the wiring loom is there even if the switch isn't ?
Please can someone point me in the right direction as to the easiest route or any other suggestions would be appreciated, also if anyone actually knows which wires I should connect to that would be real usefull.
Thanks in advance,
Stephen
