I had a no boost situation yesterday, after driving with boost fine. There was no pop, no smoke, all of a sudden I just couldn't get my boost gauge past 1 psi (autometer gauge on the a-pillar). Weird I thought, so I drove like that for the day (since it was pouring rain/tornado conditions).
Then last evening I reached under the turbo and found the wastegate flap was off the actuator rod. Cool, easy fix nothing broken.
So I jacked the car up, and tried to get my gargantuan hands into where I could get at it. I get the flap and rod back together and used a paperclip as the cotter pin since that was long gone.
Didn't test drive it last night, this morning on the way to class I floor it to get into traffic and hit 18psi (fun stuff). So of course I keep flooring it, who can resist 18psi right? I saw the boost spike all the way to 22 or 23 psi before I hit the fuel cutoff (my bpc valve must be gunky again). I assume as the ecu relearns the boost pattern my boost wioll return to around 15-16psi where it had been, needless to say I really want the stage 4 ecu now.
Just thought I would share my experience and my gratitude to MAcGuyver.
