A 92 is very likely have the soft balance chain driving sprocket unless it has been changed. Also some had the less durable split roller cam chain. I did a 92 NA at 70K because of the split rollers, at that time the balance chain drive sprocket would have gone another 70K if the sprocket had been reversed (put on the outside side in). With the valve cover off you can just see the driver sprocket, blow or other wise remove the oil on the top of the sprocket and with a bright focused light you may be able to determine how worn (sharp) the teeth are.
