I had one dealer-installed on my '88 900S, and thought the car looked much better with it. It sort of blended in with the look of the rear-spoiler. Function-wise, it allowed me to open the metal moon-roof slightly during rainfall, and not have any get into the car. There was no pronounced extra wind-noise from it. I would definitely do it again for that style car.

I had one dealer-installed on my '94 Toyota Camry Coupe V6, and thought it gave a sportier-edge look to the car (since the car already had the Lexus neck-snapping, smooth-as-butter acceleration). BUT, the amount of noise it introduced to the cabin when the glass moonroof was opened was deafening! That car also came with a factory deflector which popped up when the roof was slid back. It was only when I got the car ready to be sold (after owning it from new for 7 years), that I took that thing off (the rubber seal was deteriorating and didn't look too good for re-sale), and noticed how much more quiet the wind was when driving without it with the roof opened. I would never install one in that style car again.

I've never had one installed on my 9000 since I do not like the look of it on the roof. I think it detracts from the classy lines of the car. But that is a matter of personal taste. As for function, I have no clue whether it would be a pro or con. I think opening one of the rear windows slightly reduces the wind-buffetting sound that the fully-opened moonroof causes. But I can say, given what I stated above, it depends upon the vehicle.

BTW: it really is a simple DIY task. It's a matter of 2 or 3 small metal clips and screws. There's no need to remove the moonroof or trim. Try getting it from one of the sponsors (at a cheaper price) before a dealer.
But if you want it from a dealer, the p/n is 02 73 581.
