Most techs Ive spoken with say that the shocks/struts are good for the life of the car. Yes thats a pretty general statement, but maybe you could try lubing the bushings and or the piston rod to nix the squeek. Hows the action ? are you floating and bouncing over bumps? I have 145,000 on mine and its still pretty tight. The car is rather stiffly suspended to start with, now I might start thinking about it around 200xxx or more but at 125xxx your shocks should still be OK.
