Cluck update

I posted a message on Fri. May 23 regarding a subtle clunk type sound when lightly tapping the accelerator. Upon further inspection today, I can now rule out several possibilities, but still can't pinpoint the problem. Parked on level ground (with engine off), I released the parking brake, put it in neutral, and gently rocked the car back and forth about six inches in each direction. While doing this, I can hear the same clunk sound once going forward and once going back. I am now suspecting inner drivers as these were not replaced when I did the CV joints. Is there anything that might have been dislodged during clutch replacement to cause this problem? My next step is to do as Tom R. suggested and put it up on jack stands and check the inner drivers. This in an '88 9KT. Thanks,
Bruce
