Look, my experience is that on-the-road cruising is the least demanding driving you can do. Stop and Go is the worst. All day at 70 is easy, there's lots of air flowing, it's smooth, the fluids are circulating. I've driven some crappy cars a long way, and have had great luck with them.
If all the new stuff is holding its own with the local commute, it will be fine on the highway.
But that said, I'm also damn handy, and bring spares and tools with me when I go.
So yes, bring a DI cassette, since everyone tells me that these go unexpectedly, and some tools, and some tunes.
