As you're finding out from the answers to your post about some of the things that need to be done, they're pretty simple things, and definitely will save you $$ DIY'ing.
For the front control arm bushings, they are "easy" for someone with mechanical experience, though there are a number of parts that have to be removed and re-installed.
There's nothing special about replacing them, and the process only uses basic tools. Just be sure to have a place to do it, and expect a full day to do both sides since you're new at this. The hardest part of it all is trying to get the front sway bar end-links back into the control arms. That caused me a ton of grief!
If you need guidance in this process, email me and I will help you out with instructions.
As for the other things, I haven't done them on my 9000, but from my experience on doing similar things on other cars, they're pretty simple tasks.
You're never gonna learn if you don't give it a try, right?
BTW: Why were you told you need control arm bushings (though, with that many miles, you probably do)? Typically, only the rear ones ever need replacing (there are 2 per side: front and rear of the control arm itself). Normally, you'll hear "clunking" from the front-end when accelerating or stopping.
