Hello again...
Actually, my switch isn't like you described. It's just a fixed plunger-like switch. Its position isn't adjustable.
However, it IS mounted on a bendable metal bracket. It's snap-mounted into a hole in the bracket, as is the switch for the brake. And, bendable metal brackets were born to be bent. So obviously I bent the bracket (I mean, how couldn't I?), bringing the switch closer-in, so that it would be pushed harder when the clutch pedal is released. I'll see whether the tricked worked, the next time I use the cruise control.
What was the model year of the car in which you saw this self-adjusting switch? Mine's a 98.
