Thanks for the repley. It is night time here now but I will be testing this first time is the morning. I do have a test light and a volt meter. I do not have to start the car for my clock and radio to lose its settings. I can let the car sit over night and turn the key in the ignition to the accesory position just to make the clock and radio go on. It then may read the correct time and the radio may work. But then if I turn the key off and back on again there is a chance it will lose its settings. It may not happen the first time but after 4 or 5 trys it usually happens. This happened only happened to like once or twice in the first 6 months of owning the car. But in the last 2 months the problem has become increasingly worst. In the past few weeks it has developed into the flickering problem. Sometimes when the car has sat overnight I can turn the key to the accesory position without starting the car. The power for everything will come on and then turn off and back on again about 5 or 10 times very rapidly while I can hear a clicking sound. The dash and clock lights are not dim at all as they are flickering on and off. I have killed the battery in the past by mistake when I first got the car. The battery was strong enough to work the radio and keep the correct time but not start the car. This is why I do not believe it is a weak battery. I do know how good the cars digital dash voltage meter is but it does read about 13.8 volts when the car is running. I can also sit in the car and listen to the radio for an hour and a half and the voltage never drops below 10.5. It seems like a bad relay or something, when I turn the key in the the ignition I can hear something making a rapid clicking sound as my cars console fashes on and off. After it has finished flickering I then turn the key off and back on again. The same thing usually happens one more time but not as bad. It almost never happens for a third time. It seems like once my wireing and relays in the car have warmed up the flickering stops happening. But the problem of losing the clocks time does not stop. Thanks for your help. I will check the engin off voltage in the morning.
