don't bother making your own tool - At least that was my experience. I spent several afternoons trying to push the bushing into the dogbone with a home-made press. I thought it was much easier to remove the two mount arms and then use a hydraulic press to push the bushings in. I'd guess that any machine shop or mechanic would be able to do this for $20.
The front mount arm is sandwiched between the alternator and the engine block. It is easiest to access through passenger side wheelwell (remove the fender liner) - I needed extensions for your socket wrench to get at the 3 bolts. Its a good opportunity to change the serpentine and AC belts.
I've heard that Urethane bushings (compared to rubber OEM) give a harsh ride in automatics when at idle.
