I fixed a problem, but I need to know what I fixed

Recently I was driving my 94 9kT and all of a sudden it threw a CEL, but there seemed to be no performance loss. My boost guage still showed the same boost I was always getting (16 and 17 psi). When I would come to a stop the car would stall and I would have to restart it, once restarted it idled fine. Once I got home I let the car idle down and I opened the hood. This is where I found I could hear an audible leak on the left end of the intake manifold. Upon further inspection I saw that the metal fitting, which attached to what I think is the line that goes to the fuel preasure regulator (See below for description), broke off from inside the intake manifold. Eventually I reattached the fitting using JB Weld and then I did an adaptation and I got back quite a bit of torque I did not realise I was missing.
Here is a further description of the vacume line:
It ran from the left end of the intake manifold to a round piece that sat on top of the fuel rail. Is this the fuel preasure regulator? Also would this cause me to run lean or rich if it was left disconnected?
