I doubt it would make a positive difference for you and may even be detrimental. You want your intake opening in the cylinder to be either the same size or larger than the intake manifold itself. I spoke with Dave Kennedy about this when Iwas putting a 2.3L head on my 2.0 block. The ports are larger on the 2.3 head than the intake manifold is so I was concerned about this causing an issue. Dave told me you want the intake smaller or equal to the port size, but not bigger. Hope that helps.
