'92 9000 turbo running WAY TOO HOT!!! Posted by Daven [Email] ![]() ![]() |
I recently bought a '92 9000 turbo w/ 124k miles. When I test drove it, the car ran fine with the engine temp. fluctuating between 1/2 and 3/4 but generally staying pretty cool. After buying the car, driving it home the temperature ran way up till it hit the red and the high speed fan cut in and cooled it down to just above 3/4. Now, that is where it fluctuates, between 3/4 and the red. The car feels slow and the engine bogged-down when this hot. Since the drive home, the large top radiator hose sprung a leak and had to be replaced. Then the plastic part of the radiator where that same hose connects broke off and so i put in a new radiator and fan w/ thermal switch. Car still runs at the same high temperature. What do I do? I've had this problem before w/ my old '91 9000 turbo and when I bypassed the radiator fan switch (at the bottom of the radiator) and hard-wired it so the fan was always on I started blowing fan fuses (one every week) but the car ran great. PLEASE HELP ME! WHAT DO I DO?!
