If you don't hear the fuel pump run when you first turn the key, then it's probably toast. The access is thru the top of the tank, which is accessed under the panel in the trunk. The tricky parts are removing the fuel lines without breaking the plastic fittings and removing the plastic retainer/disk that secures the pump into the tank. The plastic fittings are held snug into the top of the pump with a couple of o-rings - they're very difficult to pull out of the pump without snapping at the 90º bend of the fitting. If you're very careful in how you pull them out, you'll save yourself a h**l of a lot of work. The plastic ring/retainer has partial radial spokes, into which a tool can be inserted to purchase a hold at opposite ends. The Saab factory tool is metal and in the center is a place to attach a socket and ratchet. I made a very simple tool out of 3/4" plywood shaped like a "C". The 3/4" dimension exactly fits between two of the radial spokes. The inside part of the "C" has to clear the fuel line fittings and bolts. I was then able to twist the plywood "C" and the plastic retainer ring with a big pair of channel-locks.......HTH
