My best guess is that one of the driveshafts is moving in and out from the inner driver (inner cv joint) and the tripod bearing on the end of the drive shaft is popping in and out of the cup it rides in. There may also be a problem with one of the inner tripod bearings.
I once had an inner tripod bearing come apart and it felt very much like a flat tire. Since your problem is intermittent, I am thinking that the shaft is popping out and the going back in along the lines of dislocating a shoulder.
The rebuilt driveshafts are not always exactly correct for each car. There are differences in the driveshafts between automatic and manual, turbo and non-turbo and model years. The same goes for the inner tripod bearings. There have been cases reported here where rebuilt driveshafts were installed which were too short and caused a problem similar to what you describe.
