Center Muffler - "Coffee Can" vs. "Pancake" style Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Wed, 23 Jul 2003 10:00:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I need a new center muffler for my '94 CS Turbo. I found a Starla at a local warehouse distributor that looks very different from the usual "pancake"-style one that comes from the factory, or that is shown by some of the online vendors. This one is constructed like a giant oval "can", with a small indent on the top to clear something on the body. The pipes and connectors look to be first rate, it has mounts in the proper places and looks like it will fit. It has several "Starla" and "Made in Denmark" stickers on it, and a "Walker" sticker under some of the other ones.
Does anyone have any experience with this style? It is significantly cheaper than the usual Starla part, but I don't want to run into any installation problems, correct banging, etc. And I don't want to do it again next year!
