Loose fuse panel door - how to keep closed? Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Sat, 26 Jul 2003 08:46:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 94 9000 CST with a fuse panel below the passenger-side airbag. This door is held closed by a plastic tab with a "button" at the end of it, and it pops open quite often on bumps. Has anyone come up with a good way to keep this door from opening? I recently replaced a couple of the missing plastic rivets (dealer wanted only $6 each for these!), but that didn't make a difference.
It looks like the plastic tab needs to be bent slightly upwards, but it's made of ABS plastic which doesn't like to be bent, even with heat gun - and I'm not too excited about using a heat gun in the vicinity of all the wiring and the airbag. Surely this problem is not a unique to my car! Any ideas?
