Actually, the ECU has was swapped out at the end of a long list of other parts. Which makes this 11 yr old car somewhat more valuable than most. I see myself as having a couple of options:
1) Hope the dealer will replace the ECU again with the caveat that if it blows I will not be responsible for a new one (not sure how likely that is though).
2) Get my hands on a Saab Manual that gives the electronic schematic for the systems in the car.
3) I've noticed that during the intial startup when the brake pressure is building up and the 'TCS CTRL' light and 'BRAKE FLUID' light are still illuminated that the idle is normal. It is right after those lights go out that the idle starts to become erratic. I've been wondering if it would be possible to trick the ETS ECU into seeing the right inputs to make it think it is in that initial mode all the time.
The dealer says the cruise function is what is blown up on the ETS ECU. The cruise isn't intermittent...it just doesn't work. The new ECU blew out on the test drive (supposedly when testing the cruise.) You don't happen to have any of these ECU's at Swedecar do you?
