Sorry to post on this problem twice, but I have had this crunchy brake thing that is still unresolved. Sometimes when I put on the brakes, there is a crunchy noise, kind of gravelly, and a corresponding crunchy pedal feeling. The sound is exactly the same as a sound I get when the road is icy and the TCS kicks on, which I have been told is an ABS sound (is this normal, by the way?). I drive the car every single day, so its not like the crunch has happened once I just recently after not driving for a while. It happens maybe every other time I drive and when it is happening, it happens almost every time I push the brake pedal, unless I sit idling and just repeatedly press the pedal, then it won't do it after the first push, and the pedal will progressivly stiffen in its feel. I had a look at my pads and they have a lot of material left on them, also they were replaced about a year ago. I have been checking out the brake fluid level a lot lately and it seems to be going down, maybe up and down.
This noise has been happening for about a month. Flushed brake/clutch fluid in April with ATE Super Blue.
HAs anyone an idea???
