Thanks TRJ.....
Yeah, I read Quasi's page, looked at the pics and went to all the related links....it helped a bunch! I'd like to add my own experience w/ some of the things I found out........
I have a 95csi Turbo...2.3L engine w/ ACC......
Somewhere someone said "you don't need to remove the bonnet"......thank God, as they were right, or the wipers and assembly. BUT....neither do you need to remove the heater hoses from the firewall, just need to disconnect at the extenders and move out of the way.
The only things that need to come off are the 'lid'and the false bulkead piece and just move the wiring harness out of the way, still connected to the false bulkhead.
There are only 2 clips that hold the blower housng in place, and the one on the driver side is easy, the other one took a wile to locate (had to do by feel), but once found just ran a long screwdriver down there and the whole thing came popped out.
I had no trouble getting the motor out or back in. I used the hint to thread the retaining bolt and beat on it to get it started.
Putting the blower housing back was easier than I thought, once I had it lined up, it just snapped right in. The most trouble I had after that was getting the rubber piece around both the blower housing and the evaporator housing.... what a pain.
Whoever said to use the bungee cord to hold the evaporator housing up out of the way....my hat's off to you, worked great....and it really does only need to go about 3-5 inches up and away to make room to pull the blower housing.
Total time, out and in, was 5 hours...with no pieces left over.(grins) I do however have a vacuum hose or tube of somekind that came away from the firewall and I don't know where it goes. It runs along the hoses to the engine compartment and attatches to a 3-way plastic connector close the the engine. Any thoughts?
.My last hint.............do this job BEFORE it gets to be 105 degrees outside!!!
Thanks Quasi, if all I had was my Haynes Manual, I never would have got this done right.
