Russ - Have you fixed this yet. From what Lu says about that large white resistor being in circuit with the low beam when high beam is on, it makes sense that the resistor is in the earth side of the headlight relay. The resistor in my 92 CS has shorted internally,i.e. almost no resistance, and the result is a headlight relay problem. Couple this with the Cruise control module having been faulty twice in very short succession, and the report from the local gyro gearloose of electronics, who keeps saying that the cruise control module and the headlight relay are designed to operate on a lesser voltage than 12v, probably 6 to 9, I would suggest that the resistor in your car has gone open circuit. Lu could shoot me down in flames with more knowledge, but it seems reasonable as Lu suggested that the CS models were the ones with the resistors. I have a circuit diagram being sent to me so when it arrives will advise if the circuits are linked. When the new resistor arrives(none in Australia ex Sweeden)I'll do a voltage check at each of the units and let you know.
