you will need a special tool to keep the tensioner compressed as you remove the idler pulley it contains.
Go to http://www.quasiotors.com, he has an excellent description of the procedure, and a description of how to make a tool for less than $10 at Home depot.
One thing: *do not* try to scrimp on the tool. It will be withstanding significant stress, and quasi's will do the job fine, but anything less will probably fail.
