Well I made two trips to the dealer so far and I'm no closer to solving my low boost problem. Just to recap what my problem is:
'92 9000 turbo, TCS, automatic, with 80,000 miles on it. I'm the second owner. The first owner had Saab do lots of upkeep on it; new throttle body (TCS) and various other high dollar items. I have a printout from Saab to verfy what was done. I got it with the low boost problem already there. The local shop last week said that they were unable to communicate with the ETS unit so they ordered a new one and said come back next week. Well today was the day and thank goodness an older tech looked at the car and said "I use the ISAT and had no problems communicating with the ETS unit." So I was saved $$$. Anyway they could not find any problems other than two vacuum lines at the relay near the battery tray were reversed. I'm not sure they were correct on this since I read on this board that the two lines were connected up correctly to start. Anyone have an image of how this relay should have the three lines going to it? I have seen the safety relay on the firewall but not one for this guy.

Their recommendation was "you need a new turbo. That's why my boost is low." Well I disconnected the wastegate line, took the car out and easily went into the red (I was careful not to do this more than twice. So I'm sure the turbo is OK.

I'm at the end of my wits on this one. I wish Anders shop was closer to me so I could have this done right the first time. I did change the APC valve because it was bad. The car ran great on a test valve so I put a new one in (as did the dealer today) and the boost was still low. I haven't hooked a gauge up to it so I'm not exact on the level of boost just that it's about base level. That one test ride with the test valve still confuses me as to why it worked then but not later with a two other new APC valves. Did I not let the car adapt enough? Does a '92 with TCS need this?

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. This is a real clean car and it deserves better.

Thanks.
Mike
