First the story:
A few weeks back, Anders deciphered for me a bunch of codes pulled by Tech 2 after "CTRL TCS" permanently kicked in. He mentioned that codes were forming a weird combination and very likely were set by technicians who rebuilt my auto tranny. Instead of recommended by a local mechanic replacement of a throttle body, I decided to double-check the reoccurrence of the codes. I took my '93 9kT for 800-mile ride. First 450 miles were flawless. Then, while cruising at about 75mph, the car choked couple of times and set CTRL TCS and LHM on. After 2-3 miles the light went off and stayed off for next 10 miles. The car choked again and this time CTRL TCS and LHM became permanent. I covered the remaining 350 miles in LHM (which actually wasn't that bad :).
New codes:
I just had the codes pulled again. There were two present: D7591 and 42220. I believe I caused 42220 myself by removing fuses #21 and #15 and switching the ignition on (I naively hoped to clear the codes this way :). Thus remains D7591. Does anyone know what this one is? It is close to D7590, which probably points to safety valve, but I "hot" tested mine and it did not seem bad. The only incorrect thing under the hood was one of the vacuum hoses came off of the boost control valve (similar to safety valve but located above the left wheel). The valve, however, had an open circuit anyway.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
