Just installed replacement resistor on fan motor of my 93 CSE NA Man. AND a new radiator. (Had pinhole in plastic header) Old rad was clean as a pin. I'll save it for my the 93 CS Auto as the drivers side header tank and core is good.

Used a $5.33 Mouser Electronics 1% 0.22 ohm Dale 50 W resistor. Could have used the 5% 0.20 for exact replacement.

Measured voltage across it while low speed running with my Fluke meter and calculated the current flow to be in the neighborhood of 15 amps. Don't have a peak value on the old Fluke to see the inrush value but may bring in a new one from work to measure that.

Using I squared R = W formula shows it developing 53 Watts of heat! Good thing it is intermittent.

Radiator was a snap to install, now that it shows no leaks I'll flush the city water out with distilled and then a am using the animal safe antifreeze at 67% / 33% distilled H2O for -75°F range.

Using my infrared themometer from work I got 207°F at the point on the head with the temp sensor when the fan kicks on (norm. thermoswitch) low speed. I also observed 186°F at the stat housing same time. This was placing the temp gauge needle at 0930 position. I ran the naked relay test on the fan (written about that earlier) using right hand index on low speed armature to start and keep running and then the thumb on the high speed relay armature. Don't have a Hall Effect ammeter probe with me to measure high spd run current, maybe later.
