Saab engines don't use cam bearing inserts, the cam rides on the head and bearing cap. The 91 1nd 92 engines were prone to piston slap on the #1 cylinder. If the noise is near the #1 cylinder and goes away when the engine is warmed up, suspect the piston. Later model years have a diverter on the water pump to block coupling that directs the coolant away from the #1 cylinder.
