Fuel mixture issues (long)

1988 9kT.
I think I had a lean mixture going on. The idle drops down way low when stepping off the throttle and the APC cuts in when in boost indicating knock.
- New AMM
- New O2 sensor
- New BPV
- No vac. leaks.
Anyways, I adjusted the AMM to 2 turns above 380 ohms. Now, the idle doesnt drop down as low on closed-throttle as before. This is a nice change since there isnt that irritating shudder. But, now when stepping off the throttle at 3k or so in 2nd, there is a lot of popping from the exhaust - it seems like fuel is still being dispensed on closed throttle. Whats going on? It seems like I cant really get the mixture right.
O2 readings:
2 Multimeters (Analog and Digital) both indicate that o2 sensor voltage drops to almost 0 on the down-swing. It doesnt stop at 0.2. It goes up to about 0.75 volts on the up-swing at idle. If I disconnect a vac. line (BPV) to simulate a lean condition at idle, the O2 sensor shows 0.03V. This indicates idle, but it seems like its too low - sometimes even showing a negative value.
AMM cold start:
Sometimes, this new AMM oscillates really really badly on cold-start. Stalls sometimes when the idle drops to like 100-200.
I've mentioned a lot of issues, so any help for any of them would be appreciated.
