My '93 already has the cat under the engine. There should be a bracket hanging the top of the cat from the starter bolts. If this is missing/broken (it was on mine) it will result in stress on the downpipe. I had a muffler shop weld a rod to the exhaust pipe just aft of the cat, which is hung by heavy rubber rings from the existing brackets on the body.
