...The wiring harnesses behind the Clarion head units (I have radio cassette ansd separate CD) are enormous, messy, and wedged in there good.
Pop out the blank switch below the seat heat switches, stick your fingers in and push the ACC unit out forward, then stick your hand through the ACC hole and make sure all the connections are seated properly into the backs of the units. Compressed air sounds like a good idea to blow dust away, although I haven't needed it. I have needed to do this about 5 times in 3 years, and everything is restored to its former glory. In fact, coincidentally, the buzz came back yesterday after about 18 months, shaken loose by some vigorous driving and a hole in the road (grrr...) A damn site cheaper than buying a replacement unit, which IMHO will be equally as susceptible to loose connections.
And I must take exception to Shawn's comments - the HK unit in my (UK) '97 Aero is superb, and one of the best standard fit setups I have heard in a car. Better sound than the upgrade system in my fathers BMW 740i. Yes you can always do better if you want to spend the money, but HK know what they're doing.
