Hello,
I have a 1987 9000T the serpentine belt self destructed last week. Tonight I replaced the serpentine belt and A/C belt. The A/C adjustment pulley 17mm/13mm cam adjuster seams like it was TOASTED when I loosened the 13mm fixing nut. My question is this normal? I think it should be some what loose I/E play but this seemed abnormal. Once I tightened it seemed much better. The A/C has had a nasty tiny noise every so often when she engages. I'm thinking the bushing or bearing for the pulley is shoot. I hence making the noise I could never find. Did I hit the JACK pot and find the missing GOLD or will another A/C tensionor be the same costing me unneeded GOLD :-)) ?
P.s I know there was a recall on the serpentine tensioner and I have upgraded to the plastic type. 87 9000T 150,000 miles.
thanks,
Dave
