The adapter is something that I made up from parts that I bought from Orchard Supply Hardware, a California Hardware chain.
I bought 2 different parts labeled as follows;
Barb-MPT adapter 1/4 inch barb x 1/4 MPT p/n 9061193
Barb-FPT adapter 5/16 inch barb x 1/4 FPT p/n 9061409
Presumably FPT stands for female pipe thread and MPT stands for male pipe thread.
The 2 pieces screw together using a threaded collar that is in the FPT bag. A short section of fuel line and a couple of hose clamps and you are in business.
Originally I intended this as a temporary fix, but it's been in place for a year with no trouble so it's stayed put. I have 3 9000s in the family and a son with 2 Porsche 944s. I seldom have to go looking for trouble.
Good Luck
