I've had TCS failure (Limp Home Mode) happening a couple of times during the last 2 years. For no apparent reason after driving ~10 - 20 minutes in LHM - restarting would fix the problem. Car is '92 9000 T with 150k miles.
Recently LMH got consistent whenever I started and it wouldn't "fix-itself". Based on recommendation from Anders (Swedecar) I check the impedance of the valve on the false firewall, and it did show sometimes several 100 ohms sometimes infinite impedance (open). I also measured the similar control valve on the left fender next to the battery and it also showed infinite impedance. So I ordered new valve's and planned on driving my car carefully in LMH for the next couple of days. I then thought I would "check" the one-way valve connected to the bleeder valve, so I took it out and tried blowing into it. At first I couldn't - neither way - but then suddenly air flowed one way, and when I put it back car started normal (no LHM) and haven't failed since (~ 2 weeks ago)
Funny thing - after this I measured the TCS valve again and impedance was 33 ohm indicating it was working!
BTW - the one-way valve is the black an white and properly as old as the car. I seem to recall someone on this BB recommending changing it to a never version (RED and WHITE). Can anyone comment?
After replacing the valve on the left fender, idle did become more stable. However - Still - In the morning when I start, after ~ 35 seconds in idle RPM drops to ~400 and the car almost stall. Then RPM cpmes back upto normal and after 5 seconds this repeat.
If I drive the car right away what happens is, that first time I come to a stop and apply the brakes same thing happens. However after that things are OK. It happens only once when car is cold.
Anyone have any idea's
thanks
